HI FOLKS, the most dreaded day of the week strikes again, made even more delightful by my yapping trolls as Hels Bels has her say on the world once again.
And they’ll have a bloody field day with this week’s topic, so happy clicking.
Right, straight to it: prostitution, brass, hooker… whatever you want to call it, they all amount to the same thing – selling your body. Just some words are more fierce than others, say whore vs. escort.
Last week, I watched This Morning as a guy explained how he’d lost his virginity after paying for it. Turns out he just didn’t feel confident going on the pull like your average Shane, Blayne or Zayn.
He also said he now chooses to sleep with sex-workers as he prefers it, claiming nobody gets hurt, no one gets bored, and both parties know where they stand.
Yet there is still a huuuuge dirty shame associated with escorting.
I find that stigma is usually attached to small-minded people leading miserable lives, and most likely have had a bad experience catching hubby up to no good spending cash from the joint account.
We don’t need to phone a friend or do 50/50 to find out which person is spoken about a lot regarding this subject – that would be me.
Something I did six years ago still lingers around after me like a dodgy fart. Not because I regret it, but because others label me with an identity no longer even part of my life. People move on, change, evolve. Are YOU still the same person you were nearing a decade ago?
It’s a job, end of, plenty of girls lie on their backs for a shot of Sambuca in Bolton’s J2 nightclub every Friday, what’s the difference? One is simply an occupation, the other just a tapping slag.
The truth is, I don’t have a problem with women selling sex. If it’s done safely, you’re not hurting a loved one, and it’s consensual, what’s the matter? Their bills, their house, their body.
I’m not naïve, a lot of men who pull out their wallets as they pull out their genitals ARE married or in a relationship.
But chances are, if they don’t go to a hooker, they’ll be dropping their kecks to a random at the pub.
It isn’t the prostitute’s problem if the bloke can’t keep it his pants, he’ll always find a way… could be with the neighbour, the Betterware catalogue woman, his kid’s teacher, it’s all still HIS problem.
Going back to the days when I used to do this for a living, I wasn’t depressed, crying in a room or feeling bad about myself. I was actually being independent.
It’s also not what most of you might think it is, old fat greying greasy guys aren’t just the men out there that are craving female attention.
Try your guys whose wives have died in a car accident and can no longer find the confidence to go out even seven years on, all he wants is a meal and a chat, or to sob in someone’s arms, men don’t like showing emotion in front of their mates as it’s not the masculine thing to do.
It might be a stupid way of thinking and it’s sad so many fellas feel they haven’t a friend to turn to in case of being tarnished as a wet lettuce, but if I could help, so be it.
There are all a million reasons as to why blokes choose to pay for a woman’s service, and yes, the majority is for sex. I’m not going to sugarcoat it and say it’s all about getting flowers and being serenaded – eight times out of 10 it boils down to the nitty gritty.
Plenty of guys are slated for paying for it, but what about single men? What about socially awkward people that jizz before they’ve even asked for your number? What about businessmen working their b******s off with a goldigging wife back home, probably banging the gardener?
Cheats are forgiven somehow, as if everyone is prone to being a lying scumbag, yet it’s the working girls that get a bad name despite it being there prerogative to do business.
If I had a daughter, would I encourage her to write prostitution as her desired career for when she’s older? NO, obviously I would not, but there is far worse going on in the world.
We preach to people who do these so called immoral jobs because it’s a petty bandwagon tactic. If a woman is mature enough to make these decisions, so be it. Prejudice is prejudice, whether it’s based on age, social class, religion, sexuality, race or profession.
Try looking at the actual seedy side of what goes on when girls have no choice: sex-trafficking, sex slavery and paedophilia.
Women consenting to paid sex, who are 18 and over, are the ones we need to worry about a lot less. So at least aim right when throwing stones from glass houses and hurl them at the brutal pigs who herd these girls around like cattle instead.
It’s the oldest profession in the world and it’s never going to be a dying one, supply and demand. Live and let live, nobody is perfect and everyone has a story.
Some people serve coffee, some fly planes, some spread their legs.
Have a fab week, whoever you are.
Yours truly, Hels Bels xxx
